Southport was sizzling last night when the crème de la crème of the
caravanning industry flocked to Riverside Holiday Park for the grand
opening of Harrison Leisure UK’s dedicated sales division ‘Harrison
Caravan Sales’.
Paul
Pleszko, Owner of Omar Homes and the current Chairman of the National
Caravan Council was Master of Ceremonies, unveiling a commemorative
plaque which now takes pride of place at the entrance to the new sales
office. While the founder of the Harrison Empire - George Harrison
Senior and representatives from the Fendt team in Germany all added
flavour to the festivities with their industry anecdotes.
Celebrations
took place inside the brand new service centre. The Champagne flowed
and there were tours aplenty around the Fendt Saphir, which took pride
of place inside the party as well as the showground, new and used stock
and the sales office.
The launch was held to promote Harrison’s
new venture to industry stalwarts, suppliers, employees and the local
business community. Based at the Riverside Holiday Park in Banks,
Southport, Harrison Caravan Sales now boasts 130,000 sq. ft of display
area, showcasing over 200 new and used static caravans, tourers and
motorhomes for sale.
The showground is supported by a brand
new £300,000 sales office and recently launched website complete with
virtual showground displaying new and used caravan stock. The Harrison
Caravan Sales development will also boast a state-of-the-art caravan
and PDI service centre. As part of this expansion, in April 2007 Harrison Leisure UK entered
into a business partnership with German caravan manufacturer Fendt to
become the sole distributor of Fendt caravans and motorhomes in the UK.
Harrison Leisure will import the vans from Germany, and new Fendt
caravans will only be available via Harrison Caravan Sales and their
carefully selected ‘Fendt Approved’ distributor network, which Harrison
intends to build up over the next 12 months.

http://www.harrisoncaravansales.com 01704 228886 This new sales division strengthens the Harrison business significantly. The Harrison family already own and manage a health club and three luxury holiday parks in the Southport area, plus a recent addition – The Wild Rose Caravan Park in Cumbria, which won the coveted Caravan Holiday Park of the Year 2007 award at the Cumbria Tourism Awards on 2nd May.
George Harrison, CEO of Harrison Leisure UK Ltd. comments on the celebrations: “The evening was fabulous. It was great to catch up with many old faces and but it was also an opportunity to show the industry how the Harrison business has moved on in recent years and to demonstrate our resolution for the future.
“Our partnership with Fendt signifies a change in direction for Harrison Leisure UK. We identified a gap in the marketplace for catering to the younger caravanner who’s looking for a less expensive alternative to start out. Fendt caravans are the perfect fit for this sector and there seems to be a lack of consumer awareness about the brand in the UK, so we hope to remedy this going forward.”
Paul Pleszko, Owner of Omar Homes comments: “I was delighted to be asked to assist with the launch of this new venture. I have known George Harrison for over 25 years and I am proud to be associated with the Harrison company. Over these years Omar have worked closely with Harrisons and have supplied top quality park and holiday homes to their customers - long may this continue. On behalf of Omar Homes, Omar Leisure and in my capacity of National Caravan Council Chairman, I wish the business a very successful future.”
