What is this?
This is a caravanning and camping search engine which will return results specifically from sites we enter into it. In other words, the better and more websites we enter the better the results we will get.
For example:
A search using the word caravan in the normal Google search engine will return results from the rock band caravan, Cessna caravan or even a mobile shopping experience!
A search using the word caravan in this search engine will only return results related to our hobby. For example, The caravan Club
Refinements to the standard search
To help us be more specific on our searches we can refine the search using refinements or categories for example; Maunfacturers or Insurance or whatever refinements we add, so for example you could search for the word caravan and refine it by insurance this will return results for all caravan insurance companies, as long as we have submitted them to the search engine in the first place....
And this is where you come in.
Volunteer to help build this search engine
In order to make it a powerfull search engine we need contributers, I have started to add sites and categories but I haven't got the time or expertise to add either the amount or quality websites the search engine needs.
In short we need caravanners and campers to help build it for the use of everyone and to make sure it isn't biased to one website in particular. (Another reason I can't do it all) What use would a caravanning and camping search engine be if it only returned results for Touring and Tenting.
The idea is to get the best results we can so that means all caravanning and camping websites can and should be included so long as they are of good quality and not link farms and such.
What will I need to do?
As a contributer you will have access to the search engine control panel, which will allow you to add websites, add categories (refinements) etc.
You
can spend as much time doing it as you like. There is even a widget you can add to your menu bar that you click on if you are visiting a site you like which will automatically add the site to the search engine
It's not hard work or difficult to do but will be very rewarding if it becomes a powerfull search engine used by everyone who enjoys our hobby or life style.
What should be included?
All websites related to caravanning and camping, including campsites, motorhomes, service and repair companies etc etc as long as it's related and more importantly increases the quality of the searches.

This search engine is powered by Google and you will need to create an account with them to join this co-op.

This is early days so please don,t expect great search results straight away, but with your help it could grow very quickly.

Once you are logged into Google please follow these links (you need to be logged in) go first to my account which if you are logged in, will show at the top of any google page
My Account >> My services >> Co-op >>
Create your own search engine >>Custom Search Engine>>
Then on the left column you will see My search engines
Click on Search engines I'm contributing to >> Caravanning and Camping Search Engine
You will then have 2 options homepage control panel
Home page being the official home page
Control panel is where you add or remove sites
Once you are in please remember to bookmark it
